How to Build a Heavenly White Tulip Garden
A white tulip garden can be grown by anyone, and can represent a variety of things. For some people, a white tulip garden represents heaven.
You can achieve your own interpretation of heaven when you use a variety of different flowers, including white tulips. The best way to organize your white tulip garden is by using your imagination. You also may want to know how tall each white tulip is, and what time of the year during which each one blooms. This will help you plan your garden so the flowers will bloom at the time that you would like them to bloom.
For example, if you plant Ivory Floradale tulips, you will want to know when you will see each of their single jumbo white tulip flower blossoms. These pure ivory beauties reach their peak in mid spring. During this time they reach a height of up to 26 inches tall. If you know when each flower grows you will know exactly which ones to plant with it, or which ones not to plant with it.
White tulips that would look superb in the late spring would be the Super Parrot tulip. This flower has long, curly petals with brush strokes of green naturally painted on the part of the petals attached to center of the flower. Another late spring white tulip bloomer is the Maureen tulip. This one is a single jumbo flower blossom that looks much like the Ivory Floradale.
You can think of countless other ways to make your virtual heaven here on earth as well. Not only that, but you to not have to necessarily make your heaven-on-earth completely white. If you do not limit yourself while planting your white tulip garden, your imagination can really run wild. You can mix and match some of the above white varieties of tulips with some of the two-colored tulips described in the following paragraphs.
One idea would be to plant pure white or ivory tulips with a purple and white Zurel tulip or the Shirley tulip. The colors of the Zurel are more defined, and not blended, whereas the Shirley tulip appears like white tulips that have been spray painted a shade of purple.
Other great plants to add to your white heaven would be some of the two-colored white and magenta tulip varieties. One is called the called the Cumins tulip and the other Synaeda Blue tulip. The Cumins has a distinct oval shape and the Synaeda has a skinny single tulip blossom shape. Each of these would look absolutely brilliant in your glorious white tulip garden. Sometimes, a few red tulips sprinkled among white tulips can introduce the notion of a memorial garden, especially for casualties of war.
One more aspect you should know about planting your white tulip garden is that you are not limited to just tulips. You can also add any other varieties of flowers that you want. For example, you can plant your tulips with different varieties of daffodils, lilies, and irises. You can also add as Ivory Bell fritillaries, White Star Ipheions, and other flowers to your white tulip garden.
The tip you should remember when adding a variety of flowers is to know how far apart they spread when each bulb is grown, how tall the reach, and when they bloom. You also would want to know how much sun and water each one needs as well. Knowing all this will help you plant a splendid white tulip garden.
